Lower Dewey Lake Trail, or not...

Jaclyn and I went on a short hike the other day, up the Lower Dewey Lake Trail. It was a little steep at times, but a really beautiful hike! We never did find the lake that was on the map... maybe next time!

Just the beginning...

A nice view of Skagway Bay as we hiked up the side of the mountain... we were lucky to get a picture without a cruiseship in view!
Somehow I missed this little treasure.... luckily Jaclyn has documented it. haha
Nope, not a lake (that's what we thought). It's just a reservoir.

Started with a few more layers than I ended up with... haha. I thought I'd be cold but all that hiking kept me warm!
Jaclyn takes awesome photos! Maybe I'll just use hers from now on...

These pipes come from the top of the mountain where they collect water, and send it down to the local power plant at the bottom. Skagway had electricity 3 months before NYC! And I guess it only makes sense that our tap water comes straight from the mountain, too.
Didn't learn that last part in grade school, did you? haha
These tracks curve right towards Skagway.
